87. The Banana Incident

Found this poem on our old computer that I guess I wrote back in the day...

The Banana Incident

Two friends were shopping at the store
Down the aisles they walked
Past the meat, the candy and more
As they cheerfully talked

They entered the section filled with fruit
The bananas were on the right
When they got there they both went mute
Only one was in sight

Each one tried to grab it first
Their hands met in the middle
As they stared their friendship burst
Over something so little

The battle began in the blink of an eye
Their swords clashed together
From one woman came an awful cry
Both lives were changed forever

The victor stood tall banana in hand
As the other suffered her fate
The toughest woman in all the land
For her friend it was too late

...that's some deep shit.

  1. Arguably the best poem i have read this week. to be fair i have been on a Maya Angelou kick this week.

I am also assuming that the Banana is a metaphor for a wiener
